Bulgaria is a top destination for hunting the Central European wild boar – a traditional hunting species preferred by many local and foreign hunters.
Basic Information
The main ways of hunting the wild boars are the individual hunt from high seat in the evening or by stalking and the driven hunt for a group of 6 to 12-15 hunters with beaters and dogs – it`s a very exciting and intense hunting experience.

Individual hunt:

Trophies` qualities:
The usual trophies` size is between 18 and 22 cm, which are very often a medal holders. In some areas of the country, larger trophies over 24 cm and 130 CIC points can be successfully hunted as well.
Duration of hunting:
The usual time needed to bag a good trophy is 3-4 days in the individual hunt from high seat and 2-3 days on the driven hunt which is much more intensive and more animals can be shot.
Combination with other species:
In general, the individual hunt of wild boars can be combined with all game species in Bulgaria, but most common combinations are with roe deer, mouflon, chamois, capercaillie and predators.
