MOUFLON (Ovis Musimon Pall)
Bulgaria has several hunting areas with very strong and stable mouflon population where you can enjoy some pleasant hunting days practicing your favorite hobby.

The mouflon is hunted in Bulgaria during the following periods:

This animal can be hunted all year round because the rams are not losing their horns as antlered game animals. However, if the hunter wants to take the skin, we recommend choosing dates from November to March when the animals have the beautiful and thick winter fur.
Stalking or high seat in the morning and in the afternoon are the main ways of hunting.
Trophies` qualities:
Usual trophy’s size is 75 – 85 cm., but capital trophies up to 1 m. can be also hunted. Trophies are paid according to the average length of the horns in centimeters.
Duration of hunting:
2 to 4 days of hunting are enough to get a good mouflon trophy.
Combination with other species:
Mouflon can be combined with wild boar or predators which are also available for hunting all year round or, depending on the hunting area, with roebuck (from 01.05 to 30.10), red deer (from 01.09 to 31.01), fallow deer (from 01.09 to 31.01), capercaillie (from 15.04 to 15.05).
